Current Connection 11-30-12

Freight train collapse in New Jersey? It happen today Nov. 30th at 10:33 a.m. on a bridge causing a big chemical leak disaster.  The train was carrying five tanks of vinyl chloride.  It fell into a creek when the bridge collapsed.  To me, this is a tragic event because it will change lives of people in New Jersey.  Also, the state of New Jersey has a problem to take of now.  Water in the creek is now mixed with chemicals that could possibly have life living in it.

Current Connection 11/19

The Israel attack happens to be a tragic disaster in the middle east.  Israel's military said Monday it bombed dozens of sites in Gaza, including several buildings housing police of the Hamas movement which controls the territory.  A commander of another militant Palestinian faction was reportedly killed in one of the strikes.  I am a strong supporter of Israel and I believe that we as Americans should protect Israel.  My bible says that when Jesus comes back, He will land on a hill in Israel.  We must let Israel know that we care for them and are trying to protect them.

The presidential election, great in its popularity, has taken a toll in our country today.  President Obama has been reelected as our president. Knowing what he has done so far, Obama can very possibly make a lot of changes to this country.  Romney ran against Obama in the race of the presidency, taking place this month.  Personally, I believe that Governor Romney would do a better job at the white house than Obama has in the past four years. Obama needs to leave the office and let Romney take over.

book review #1

The book I'm doing is, Just In Case, by Meg Rosoff.  This book is about a boy that goes to school and is not like the others.  He is about 13 years old and in middle school. His name is David Case.  The point of the name of this book comes from his nickname.  He called himself Justin Case.  He did this because he wanted to be known as something different.  During his life in middle school, he encounters a very mild experience.  It is really hard to eplain.  The coach at his school finds out what is going on and recommends that he joins the track team in the school.  Justin does not really want to do the track team, but, his mind tells him otherwise.  Also, he has a pet imaginary dog.  Justin calls him, Boy.  Justin takes Boy everywhere he goes.  When he does his track stuff, he tags Boy along with him.

Current connections #2

My point on the presidential election is very radical.  I personally believe that Obama and  Romney have a good race against each other.  I would to see Romney win but if Obama does win, what will we lose. my opinion with the presidential election is that Gov. Romney will win the election.

Current Connections #1

The Twin Towers is an astronomical event that has taken place in our country.  My view on this tragic event taken place in our nations history is that we should have had the security that we have today in airports now back in the time that this all happen. My tone for this is anger.  This is because I have a problem with terrorist attacking my country.  Our country is where we live.  How can we let someone destroy it like that? I would not let happen.

World Trade Center

The new World Trade Centers are a great project to happen to the Nation we live in today.  The way these towers are being built is outstanding.  Three foot thick concrete walls will be protecting most of the towers as of now because of information.

Christian's Bucket List

1.  Just In Case - by Megg Rosoff:  I seen this book at the library at school and it seems to be a pretty good story from the summary.  Others have read this book and told me about how it is a great book to read.  The book caught my eye because of the color and it was in display on the shelf.  I have started to read just the beginning of this book and it has been a great story so far.  I really don't understand why the author named the book what it is, but, I'm sure the reason will come as I read it.

2. Paper Towns - by John Green:  First off the author, John Green, has a lot of good books.  He has a lot of books in the top one hundred teen books list.  I heard a lot of good things about this author.  I have read one of his books a couple of years ago and I thought it was a great book, so, I'm going to try to read this book because of that reason.  I have not read this book but I look forward to reading this book and I hope to enjoy the book as well as others who have and loved it.

3. The Outsiders - by S. E. Hinton:  I have read this book about five years ago and since it has been that long, I have decided to read it again.  I can't remember a lot of things that happened in the book and are a little fuzzy and blurry.  So, I want to read it again because I probably missed a few things that happen in the book.  It was great reading and I liked the book very well.

4. Lord of the Flies - by William Golding:  Lord of the Flies is a great book from what I have been told.  I want to read this book because I like bugs and this seems like a book about flies.  This book has made it to the top one hundred teen books list as well.  therefore, it must be a good book to read.  I have never  read a book from this author, William Golding, so this will be a good experience with him and his writings.  None of my friends have read this book, so, I will be the first to either recommend or not recommend this book.

5. Lord Of The Rings(3 books) - by J. R. R. Tolkien:  A friend recommended that I should read this book.  He said that this is a really good book book to read.  It has a fantacy feel to it.  This book is fairly large but I like a good challenge.  It seems really really really good and really really awesome.  I think that this book has been a good series and have been told and heard about it all the time.  This book has been made into a movie and i've seen one of them.
